In diesem Aufsatz soll eine Funktionsbestimmung der Partikel halt versucht werden. Die Analyse authentischer Diskursabschnitte zeigt, dass – im Gegensatz zu bisherigen Bestimmungsversuchen – zum Verständnis der Leistung dieser Partikel die Handlungskonstellation von Sprecher und Hörer sowie die Dimensionen der mit halt realisierten sprachlichen Handlung (Äußerungsakt, propositionaler Akt, illokutiver Akt) heranzuziehen sind.
The article attempts a functional description of the German particle ‘halt’. An analysis of authentic discourse sections demonstrates the need for an understanding of the usage of ‘halt’ in the context of the current action constellation of speaker and hearer. The complex functionality of the particle furthermore requires to take into account the three dimensions of speech act (utterance act, propositional act, illocutionary act).
