Passivisch interpretierbare sich-lassen-Konstruktionen und Modalverben

In dieser Studie wird eine Konstituente des Passiv-Feldes, die sich-lassen-Konstruktion, hinsichtlich ihrer Kombinierbarkeit mit einem Modalverb einer genaueren Untersuchung unterzogen. Anhand eines Kleinkorpus kann gezeigt werden, dass MV am häufigsten in sich-lassen-Konstruktionen + Subjekt_[+belebt] vorkamen. Seltener und auf ganz wenige MV eingeschränkt ist ihre Kombinationsmöglichkeit mit sich-lassen-Konstruktionen + Subjekt_[-belebt], und keine MV fanden sich in (es) + lässt + sich- Konstruktionen. Außerdem kommt es bei der Kombination von sich-lassen Konstruktionen mit einem MV zu semantischen Nuancen, die weder der entsprechende Passiv- noch der entsprechende Aktivsatz wiederzugeben vermögen.

In this study one of the constituents of the passive field, the ’sich lassen’ construction, is subjected to a thorough examination in respect of its combinability with modal verbs (MV). By means of a small corpus it is shown that MV most frequently appear in ’sich lassen’ constructions + subject_[+animate]. Combinations with ’sich lassen’ constructions + subject_[-animate] are rare and limited to only a few MV, and no MV could be found in ’(es) + lässt + sich’ constructions. Beyond that, ’sich lassen’ constructions in combination with MV sometimes result in special semantic nuances which could not otherwise be expressed, either by the equivalent passive or the equivalent active sentence.
